This Year's Bonus Trip:  Fort McHenry

Wednesday, June 2, at 10 am
Carpools will leave promptly at 9:15 am from the Meadowood Park lot at Falls Road across from Greenspring Station.

Star-shaped Fort McHenry is best known for its role in the War of 1812. During a night-long bombardment, part of Major George Armistead’s successful defense of the Baltimore harbor from the British navy, Francis Scott Key was inspired to write The Star-Spangled Banner. Our visit will include an introductory movie presentation, a talk by a Park Ranger, and self-guided walking tour. Lunch on your own in the area is optional.

To all who have registered for four or more Live and Learn groups, and to all Live and Learn facilitators and instructors, the trip is available with no Brandeis fee. All participants will pay an admission charge of $7, except those holding a Golden Age Passport Card from the U.S. Park Service, which will admit the holder free. For all others the charge is $10 plus the admission charge.

To insure that we have an accurate count of those attending, please check the appropriate box on your registration form if you plan to attend.
